Norristown Resident Mary Duff Celebrates 104th Birthday at Markley

Mary Duff 104th birthday

Mary Duff, a resident of Markley Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Norristown, recently celebrated her 104th birthday. Throughout her life, she has been a beloved role model, having been recognized as Teacher of the Year in Pennsylvania in 1972 and later becoming an ordained Methodist Minister. Despite growing up in the segregated South, Duff pursued her education and dedicated over 30 years to teaching English in the Philadelphia school system. Her granddaughter, Jamila H. Winder, who serves as the Montgomery County Commissioner, attributes much of her own success to the example set by Duff. Markley Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, where Duff resides, is known for its quality care and services, maintaining a five-star rating for quality measures from CMS and earning accreditation from The Joint Commission.
